The “Fondation Possenhaus” was constituted by Grand-Ducal decree on September 2, 1993. It manages the museum since 1993 in accordance with the convention concluded between the State and the borough of Wellenstein.
The management board comprises representatives of the Ministry of Tourism, of the Ministry of Culture, of the Ministry of Finance, of the borough council of Wellenstein, of the “Friends of Possenhaus and Moselle Folklore”, and a representative of the Kayser-Gales family. The chair resides with the Ministry of Tourism.

Any gifts and inheritances in favour of the Possenhaus may benefit from tax advantages in accordance with articles 109 and 112 of the Law dated 4.12.1967.

Object:

Article 2.

The Foundation’s aims are:

- to conclude a management convention
* with the State for those buildings that make up the “A Possen” museum
* with other owners and with the borough of Wellenstein
- To conclude a convention respectively a lease on the buildings required to satisfactorily manage the museum,
- To assume the overview and the management in all its aspects of the museum and the Wäistuff “A Possen” located in Bech-Kleinmacher as well as of any other buildings that may subsequently be added,
- Said management may be exercised either directly or through the intermediary of personnel employed by the Foundation
- To acquire, to keep an inventory, to exhibit, to maintain and to guard the collections and objects connected with the History, the Art, and the Moselle Folklore, the work on the vine, both for collections that belong to the Foundation, and for those that have been entrusted to the Foundation by any third party,
- To promote tourism to the “A Possen” museum,
- To collect and manage gifts and inheritances.

The Foundation may exercise all activities that are directly or indirectly connected to the above aims, or that are susceptible to favour the development of these aims.



Administration:

Article 5.

The Foundation’s administration is entrusted to a management board of at least five (5) members and at most nine (9) members. Members can be either individuals or official bodies.

The management council shall always comprise the following:

- one representative of the Ministry of Culture,
- one representative of the Ministry of Tourism
- one representative of the Ministry of Finance,
- one representative of the borough council of Wellenstein,
- one representative of the “Friends of Possenhaus and the Moselle Folklore”
- one representative representative of the Kayser-Gales family, founders of the museum
